AI & infrastructure consultancy
Two practices under one roof: LLM solutions for small and mid-sized companies, and owner's-engineer + due-diligence work for telecom, data-centre and renewable-energy projects across the Baltics and EU.
Two directions, one operator's mindset — AI that earns its place in your business, and the renewable-energy and infrastructure projects we develop and finance.
LLM/AI
Practical, LLM-powered AI for companies that want results, not slide decks.
01
Where AI actually moves the needle for you, what it costs, and what to do first. No buzzwords, no twelve-month roadmaps.
02
Connect the tools you already use. Replace manual data entry, reconciliations, reporting, and back-office routines with reliable workflows.
03
Latvian-language document understanding for invoices, bank statements and tax filings — plus sales- and production-process automation that works with unstructured data to find solutions that add value across the front and back office.
04
Re-architect how an organisation works around LLMs — processes, data, and teams redesigned so AI becomes the operating model, not a bolt-on feature.
Project Development
From market strategy and analysis to building the project — renewable energy and data centres, as owner's engineer and due-diligence lead, from first analysis to financial close.
Fifteen years building and financing critical infrastructure. Group CFO at LVRTC, Latvia's state broadcast, telecoms, and data-centre operator; supervisory board at LMT through the country's 4G and 5G rollout; and private-equity diligence before that — evaluating assets for what they actually do, not what they pitch.
Today that experience goes into renewable-energy project development: battery storage, solar, and wind — from feasibility and grid connection through supplier coordination, permitting, financing, and financial close, as a single accountable lead.
01
We prepare, analyse and help implement market and growth strategy — independent analytics (sizing, pricing, competition, regulation), the entry decision, and execution — with deep sector knowledge in telecom, broadcast and infrastructure.
02
Solar, wind and battery storage as owner's engineer, with deep hands-on experience in wind — feasibility, grid connection, supplier/EPC coordination, permitting and financing, A-to-Z.
03
Siting, power, and commercial structuring for data-centre projects — including the behind-the-meter renewable + storage angle that makes the economics work.
04
Independent technical and financial due diligence and bankable models for investors, developers, and lenders — every number sourced and stress-tested.
Four principles that keep our work honest and our clients shipping.
01
We start with the problem, not the technology. If a spreadsheet beats a model, we tell you.
02
Latvian-language tooling, EU data residency, GDPR-aligned by default. We are based here, our clients are here.
03
Smallest useful version first. You see real value inside a quarter, not a year. Iterate from there.
04
Fixed scope, fixed price where we can. Time-and-materials with weekly burn reports where we can't. No surprises.
A small, technical practice that builds working AI — and gets infrastructure financed and built.
ODAFIN is based in Latvia and works across the European Union. We exist because most AI consultancy is theatre, most automation tooling is generic, and most infrastructure advice never owns an outcome. Our clients deserve better on all three.

Founder
Mariss Mežgals is the founder of ODAFIN. He has spent fifteen years at the intersection of finance, infrastructure and technology — most recently as Chief Financial Officer of LVRTC, Latvia's state radio and television operator, where he ran the financial side of a portfolio that spans broadcast, telecoms and broadband.
He also served on the supervisory board of LMT (Latvijas Mobilais Telefons) through the country's 4G and 5G rollout, sitting close to the engineering and regulatory decisions that shaped how Latvia connects to itself — and to the wider state digitalisation programme that put public services online for citizens and businesses. Before that he worked in private equity and venture capital, evaluating businesses for what they actually do, not what they pitch.
He started ODAFIN because the next decade of value creation will not happen inside any single discipline. It will happen at the seams — where finance meets engineering, where regulation meets product, where Latvian-language operations meet global AI tooling, and where renewable energy meets the grid. That is exactly where AI and hard infrastructure earn their place: as the connective tissue between worlds that used to be too expensive to bridge.
